Marc Hundley relies on other people’s words to express himself—for their graphic and sentimental implications, he uses positive phrases from the likes of Stereolab to Virginia Woolf to create beautiful text-based prints. Blurring the lines between graphic design, notions of advertising and art, his intentions are to create cultural accessibility, and to make people more comfortable when viewing his work. I visited Marc in his Williamsburg studio as he prepared for an upcoming show at Team Gallery, and to discuss how certain words and their meanings have started to become undone.
